WAR

WAR is an American funk rock band formed in 1969, known for blending rock, jazz, Latin and R&B influences to create a distinctive sound. Originally formed in Long Beach, California, the group gained popularity for their socially conscious lyrics and multicultural lineup. Some of their biggest hits include “Low Rider,” “Spill the Wine” (with Eric Burdon), “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and “Cisco Kid.” WAR’s music often addresses themes of unity, peace, and the struggles of inner-city life, resonating with diverse audiences throughout the 1970s and beyond. They are celebrated for their vibrant live performances and lasting impact on the music world.
